Why do allergy tests take so long?

Issue
I'm told it takes over 2 hours. Never had one before.

Best Tip
I had one last week and it took 3 hours. They poke you with stuff and then they have to let it sit for a bit to see a reaction. Then they come back and do more of it....and since other people are there also the doc is going from room to room so that takes time also. I only had 84 needles in my skin, its not that bad. The ones on the back didn't hurt much..but the ones on the arms I didn't like. Good luck

Others
It does not take that long. It takes a little time to prepare the skin, but if you are allergic to anything, your arm will swell up in a matter of minutes.
It should not take over an hour or so. They have shortened the time it takes down to about 15 minutes for the "poking" and then they wait for about ten minutes to see what you are allergic to. Then they advise and medicate. In and out in no time.
