Aspartame, mild depression, and muddled thinking?

Issue
Someone suggested I stop drinking diet coke due to some chronic pain I experience. I also have some trouble with minor depression and what I call muddled thinking or foggy thinking - where it is hard to look at a task and logically figure out where to start--it seems overwhelming....

I stopped the diet coke last week, and it didn't help the pain - but - surprisingly enough, the mild depression has disappeared and my thoughts and plans are suddenly clear as a bell.

Has anyone else had similiar experiences with products containing aspartame. What about Splenda?

Best Tip
Aspartame is an extremely toxic poison. It's amazing it's still commonly used while saccharin, which is much less toxic has been all but phased out.

See the below link for a list of side effects, many of which you have described. Give it time and hopefully your body will heal itself.

Splenda is much less toxic as it's a by-product of sugar, and not a host of chemicals. Source(s): http://www.sweetpoison.com/aspartame-sid...

Others
What may have happened is that you were addicted to caffeine, without the stimulant you were tired and thus couldn't think clearly.
Avoid artificial sugars. See this page to see the relationship between food and depression and health problems.

Well peopl wih ADD need stimulants. I kind of think if a brain needs a stimulant for a given duty you are above such job. We all need brain food just some on high levels. Now to deal with it well stimulants. I have the same problem as you I left those stinkin jobs which helped ;)
