What is the best medication for high cholesterol?

Issue
My doctor prescribed me medication for my cholesterol but it's side effect is too much for me. Then my doctor prescribed me another medication for my cholesterol but this time, it makes me vomit and dizzy. None of the two medication works because I had my blood test and my cholesterol shoot up. Any suggestion?

Best Tip
Changing your diet will help a lot. Lessen intake of meat especially red meats and start undergoing juice therapy. I have the same problem a year ago and consulted my family physician as well as a naturopathic doctor and combine their recommendations. I increase my physical activities and went into eating salad and drinking vegetable and fruit juices. The ND I went to gave me different combinations of natural juices which I can drink everyday or at least 3-4 times a week. Combining carrot, apple, parsley, celery, cucumber and lemon or orange provided me with variety of juices I could indulge in. He also recommended eating more whole grains and I have switched eating brown rice, drink oat and soy milk instead of cow's milk. Taking supplements like flaxseed oil, garlic and cayenne also helped me achieved a normal cholesterol level. My ND is good and if you want to try consulting with him, you can check this site www.design2heal.com. I now prefer to use natural remedies than medications because of the side effects. Hope you find this information useful.

Eat oatmeal and/or Cheerios. These will naturally reduce your bad cholesterol. Watch your diet!
"statins" (lipitor, zocor, crestor) are the best medications, zetia is a good add on. tricor is good for triglycerides. if these are giving you trouble, try fish oil 1000 mg two times a day with vitamin e 400 units daily, good luck
There are so many medications on the market today, many more then two. It's true that cholesterol can be reduced by diet and exercise but sometimes that is not enough. Talk to your doctor and see if he will prescribe another statin for you. I am sure that there will be a med right for you. Also menton any herbal or holistic approaches to your doctor to get his ok.
OATMEAL N CHEERIOS
Diet.
Ces B has the right idea. Precription drugs are dangerous. The doctors get a big kick back on all the pills they push, so they PUSH! Red wine also helps.
