*Health Issues>>>Cancer issues>>>pea-like mass near elbow (cyst-like); under the surface, doesn't hurt... could it be cancerous?.? |
Issue i'm a independent contractor and i currently do not have insurance. does this pose a major threat as far as cancer goes? Best Tip no. it is called ganglionic cyst. its just an encapsulated fluid that usually found in joints, such as elbow, wrist etc. it is easily removed by needle aspiration. no bigee. i hope this calms your mind. by the way, usually after aspiration, it comes back after a few months. then, surgery is required to remove the capsule to get rid of it totally. Source(s): i was a medical student and i had one two yrs ago. Others it could be just a cyst full of liquid or it could be cancerous, you will need a biopsy to know for sure. Calcium deposit .........normal.....dont sweat it Agree with Zakbauer, gaglionic cyst. I had one on my wrist, right at the joint. Went to doctor as it was bothering me, wrist has a lot of movement in it. Ganglionic cyst, and he stuck a needle in it and drained it (looked like gel found in Spam!), it doesn't hurt, but he said sometimes they come back. Mine hasn't and that's been 30 years ago. oky doke? He did inject something into it afterwards and said it would help so it doesn't come back. It could be a wart or a keloid (scar) that you hadn't noticed before. Insurance or not, you may want to get it looked at if it changes in size or shape. Most clinics accommodate low income or non insured people with a sliding scale fee so you don't have to worry about a horrendous medical bill. Call one first to see if they can make financial arrangements. Probably a benign synovial cyst |
