Issue i know that anemia is a side affect of cancer. Best Tip Anemia can be associated with having cancer and it's treatment. Generally people are anemic because they are iron deficient or possily folate or Vitamin B 12 deficient. Having the anemia will not cause cancer though. Anemia is always related to an underlying condition (of which there are many). It is caused by a) Losing blood - ulcers, digestive tract tumors, heavy periods, etc.. b) Your body destroying your blood cells - autoimmune conditions, reactions to certain medications, infections, etc... or, C) Your body not producing enough blood cells - kidney failure, vitamin deficiencies, diseases involving the bone marrow where blood is produced (including cancer), etc.. However, there are certain noncancerous conditions which cause anemia and eventually do lead to bone and blood cancers. No, there is no causal link between anemia and the onset of cancer.
