are the sugar alcohols in those sugar free gums (eclipse, orbit, etc.) bad for your teeth?

Issue
im not asking if they are going to whiten your teeth im just wondering if chewing it is like neutral, not going to give you cavities

Best Tip
on the contrary, sugar alcohols have actually been shown to be bacteriostatic, meaning that they halt the growth of bacteria. the sugar alcohols are undigestable to bacteria, so they starve when flooded with the non-food. since cavities are caused by bacteria eating sugar and producing acid as waste (dissolving tooth enamel & eventually creating cavitations in the surface), sugar alcohols are in fact non-cariogenic i.e. will not contribute to the formation of cavities.

so, in short, sugar alcohols in gum are good for your teeth.

Others
Chewing gum is possibly the grossiest look in the world today.
Brush your teeth and floss and don't chew gum!
Those "sugars" are synthetic sugars which are not digestible by the human body or most organisms. Since the root causes of most tooth decay are bacterial processes, and most bacteria probably wouldn't be able to digest synthetic sugars, I'd say you're safe.

Nope. They're fine for your teeth! Most newer gums use a sweetener called Xylotol (Especially Trident) which works as a sweetener and also cleans your teeth.
NO, Ive chewed sugar free gum my whole life, and Im 38....Ive never had a problem with cavities.
