What's the quickest most efficient way to cleanse your retainer after a meal? |
Issue And is it ok to take your retainer off for certain meals? What happens if you don't keep your retainer on while you eat. I just got my bottom ones yesterday and are they supposed to hurt so much? Best Tip I'm not sure what kind of retainer you have, but I didn't think you were suppose to eat with it on. Try soaking in Listerine, that stuff will kill anything. Others Walk over to the sink and just rinse it off? Oh, I guess you could dip it in your beverage glass. It will only be sore for a few days. if even that long. You can and probably will want to take them off to eat. I did. You just have to be sure to put them back in your mouth after you eat. A whole lot easier to clean that way. It was my understanding that you could take it out when you eat. But if you don't the best way is to rinse it with warm water or cool water. Which ever you prefer but always check with you dentist for proper care and use. The quickest way to clean your retainer is with your tooth brush and tooth paste. I normally clean mine when I brush my teeth, and you can keep the retainer in to eat soft foods and liquids, such as yogurt or a soft bread. While eating a normal meal, definetly take it out (they are usually super expensive to replace). Your teeth will be fine if you take it out to eat, your teeth will not move. My lower retainer is permanent, so all I can say is that when I got my upper retainer, my mouth was sore, I think it was the change from constant pressure to controlling the pressure and being able to pop the retainer out, your teeth are just getting used to it. Good Luck! |
