My dentist said I need a root canal and it will be $2,600! Any idea how to get this on the cheap? |
Issue I have dental insurance, but it is not very good. Best Tip That's exceedingly high. Does this include an immediate crown? Even then, it sounds REALLY high by about 500$, minimum. Try calling other endodontists and comparing out of pocket cost. My crowns, porcelian over noble metal, were 500$ roughly. My root canals were covered, but my boyfriend currently needs a root canal and we've been getting out of pocket quotes for roughly 1,000$. The tooth only abscesses or breaks apart if a crown is not applied within a reasonable amount of time. Both of my front teeth were crowned almost 10 years ago and I have had no trouble what so ever from the root canals or crowns. Once the tooth starts turning color after the root canal has been done, you will need a crown fairly shortly. It doesn't always have to be done immediately. A root canal is intended as preperation for a crown to save the tooth. Others If there is a dental school in your area, they sometimes will do it inexpensively, if they have room. Good luck find a new insurance plan for dental health that is cheaper wow i've got to tell you, i've had two root canals, and two caps put on..and the root canals only cost me about $650 a peice, maybe you should check around your area for a different dentist. If you live in a border state, cross the border into Mexico and go to the best dentist you can find. Some might even accept U.S. insurance. I know for a fact some doctors do. I hate to tell you but that is REALLY expensive. Mine cost $850 last year. That was for one tooth and a semi-permanent filing (not the crappie thing they put in when you are getting a crown immediately!). You should call around! With this money you can come to India, get your teeth repaired and do sight seeing. But mind you , hotels in India are disproportionately expensive. |
