what is this?? |
Issue ok in January my face had swollen and landed me at the ER (it was my bday too). I was told I had an abcess on my tooth. It ruptured later that day and omg what a relief! The dentist has pulled other teeth out since we are working on dentures. So here it is almost october and I still have it. It ruptures about every other day w/o all the swelling. it's painful all the same. what can I do? Please dont say get another dentist. I've had to switch several times and at this point he's the only one in the area that takes medical card and new patients. what can I do? Best Tip OMG! I know you don't want to, but you really need to see about going to another dentist. If it's still rupturing then there could be something majorly wrong!! Or if nothing else... go to your regular doctor. There may be something wrong somewhere else in your body that is causing this to happen. Good luck!! :) Others Make an appointment and dont leave til you understand what is happening to you. Ask a lot of questions, like is this normal or do you have an infection, how long is this pain and rupturing going to last? I would call the dentist you are currently seeing and explain the whole situation to him and I wouldn't leave the office until he gave me an explanation for what it was and a way to treat it Products like Orajel take the pain away. That's my guess, but you should see a dentist first. You need a stronger antibiotic, you could even need them to be ran intravenously, this can kill you...don't mess around with it anymore! My mom has the same problem, abcesses run in our family, she just gets them randomly, she has one tooth that an abcess keeps reacurring in..she just takes antibiotics, and rinses with salt water..it would be an infection in the nerves or roots...if you don't have that tooth removed, get it removed as soon as possible..the only real way to get rid of it, is to get rid of the cause. It's an abscess, but you already know that. GET IT OUT ALREADY!!! You'll just end up back in the ER again if you don't. |
