How fast was recovery after amelioblastoma surgery? |
Issue How fast was recovery after amelioblastoma surgery? Best Tip This question is impossible to answer. A relatively small ameloblastoma would not be much different than a basic extraction. I have seen some (2) where the patient was hospitalized for an open surgery. The tumor was so large that they lost 2 or 3 teeth and a large section of the jaw bone. The site had to be reinforced with metal plates screwed to the bone. Both patients were in the hospital for a few days and then miserable for a couple of weeks afterwards. I can only assume that it would be somewhere between these two extremes. Others Ameloblastoma is usually a benign tumor on the gums or jaw bones. Sounds scary but it's usually nothing. My son had one removed when he was only 5 years old. Was eating that afternoon. Healing time is about the same as having a tooth removed. Hope everything turns out well for you. |
