infected wisdom tooth and... severe sore throat? |
Issue I麓m taking antibiotics and dentist said I must finish the course before the tooth can be extracted. The appointment for that is next Tuesday, thank god! Problem is, my throat is getting worse and worse. I couldn麓t sleep last night due to the pain and discomfort. And this morning I found that I couldn麓t even talk! I麓ve lost my voice. Has this ever happened to any one? What can I do? just wait? Should I worry?... Best Tip You are already on antibiotics and your extraction appointment is also nearing. You may also use hydrogen peroxide as well as do the lukewarm salt water gargling at least twice a day. If the infection has not caught up much, your sore throat will also be alright and soon you will be singing like a canary again. Others You should call your dentist right away! a bad tooth can cost you your life!. In the mean time try gargling with proxcide. Also putting proxcide in your mouth and swish it around the infected tooth will ease the pain for awhile! You should ring your dentist and describe your symptoms. There's a good chance he/she has heard of something similar or can call an ear/nose/throat specialist and make a recommendation for you. A tooth infection can infect your throat and stomach. Hydrogen peroxide will help to prevent the infection from moving to your throat and stomach; but it sounds like it is too late for that but it may help and it may help ease the pain. you should call your doctor and let him know it is getting worse. He needs the infection gone before he can remove the tooth to avoid making the infection worse. The sore throat is a very bad sign. Depending on your current time of day it may be wise to go to the hospital if you can not see a doctor. Blood poisoning can kill you know. They will put you on a drip to speed up the flow of antibiotics into your bloodstream. I don't mean to frighten you but I know someone whose brother nearly died due to these symptons. So don't take a chance it is better to feel a little silly and over react than to die. |
