can i go to the dentist while on chemotherapy? |
Issue i just need a cleaning can i still go? I just have two more infusions of Rituxan left. I usually take an anitbiotic before i go because i have lupus. Best Tip My son had to take an antibiotic an hour before going for his cleaning. Do ask your oncologist and he can write you a prescription. Don't rely on your dentist knowing...they are pretty clueless when it comes to these things and I had to tell them what to do and how. Make sure they go gentle on the cleaning so as not to risk an infection. I would wait for further dental treatment like a cavity or extraction if you only have a few more rounds to go. Others Why don't you ask your oncologist/hematologist? hi,there is no anything stopping you from visiting a dentist for scaling and polishing the teeth,and even i think this is necessary for you .be sure my dear friend |
