My husband can't tolerate this tootache pain? What should I do? |
Issue I took my husband yesterday to the dentist because he is having terrible tootache pain, well, the doctor said that they have to wait until the infection clears up in order to pull the teeth out. They gave him some antibiotic and pain medicine, but the pain medicine is not strong enough. They scheduled him for 10-11-06, like two weeks from now.He says that he does not think that he will be able to wait that long, and believe me, he is in intolerable pain. What else can a dentist do to help in this case?Any way of putting him asleep to do it? Best Tip A dentist wont pull his tooth out untill the infection as cleared cause this will cause infection to travel in to the hole thats left behind, the only thing he can do is continue to take his antibiotics and pain killers and apply a warm heat source to his face he will just have to ride the pain out as it will stop in few days when the infection starts to clear up. Others Try taking ibuprofen between pain meds, it reduces swelling much better. Table salt in warm water to rinse. Antibiotics take 24 to 48 hrs to kick in, hang in there. Then call the dentist back! He can go to see an oral surgeon! they usually give him strong sedative and extract the tooth. However is very important taht he finish his antibiotic. yes i got put to sleep when i had my teeth pulled but they cant pull them till the infection is gone he could go to the hospital and get a shot in his mouth to numb his mouth put crushed asprin on it |
