My brother is having hicc-up since 5 hours continously.tried all home remidies- hold breath&drink water.advice

Issue
He is 38 yrs old. had his wisdom tooth removed 10 days back due to wrong path of its growing.since he was not treated properly after operation, developed very severe infection around the area. so got admitted to a hospital and underwent a small surgery yesterday.he is having a tube running into his mouth thru' jaw, now, to remove the exess puss. adviced to stay in hospital till 3rd day.he was talking a lot today afternoon in the hospital.kindly provide me with the required medication.

Best Tip
There is one excellent way to cure hiccups. Provided he isn't feeling too bad, you can get a spoonful of vinegar, tell him it's water, and get him to swallow it. I had someone do this one on me once, it worked perfectly. :P Unfortunately, it only works once because it's not a surprise the second time around (and the surprise is what does it), and I'm not sure if it would be good for him in his present state. Maybe you should ask one of the people at the hospital whether the procedure is safe (but make sure your brother doesn't hear).

Others
Fart in his left ear...it'll do the trick!
he's still in the hospital? they should know what to do, and if they don't, get the heck out of there! here is a cure for the hiccups, which my grandmother and my daughter swear by. Take a drink of water, and before you swallow, plug your ears with your fingers. I have seen it work.
ask him a question where he lists items, like name all the cars you know, or colors, etc. that way he starts to focus on making the list, which will help him forget the hiccups and relaxes his abdomen.
I know this sounds goofy, but it does work for me... have him outstretch his pinky fingers and point them toward each other. Concentrate on keeping the tips as close together as possible without them touching. Do this for about a minute or two and they should be gone.
I had the hiccups so badly that once I resorted to drinking two tablespoons of Red Wine Vinegar just to see if it would work. It worked but it was kind of gross.
I know this may sound stupid, But have him belch as much as he can til they're gone. Granny swears by this and it has worked so far for all of us... Good luck!
