dentists: have u heard of, and do you recommend the Rota-Dent toothbrush? |
Issue and do you know how much they cost? they are trying to charge $200.. is it worth it??!!!! i saw it online for like $98....is it even necessary? Best Tip As Tomh311 says, you don't need to spend that sort of money to get a good result. Nor is the price of a manual brush an indicator of its effectiveness. Any brush will do if you are comfortable with it - a lot of brush "features" are simply gimmicks. Having said all that, the Rotadent is a nice electric brush. My wife has been using one for 15 years. Others i'm a dentist and i use a good old $2 tooth brush and i floss with a reach access flosser. i haven't had a cavity since the reagan administration. if it makes you feel better to spend more that's fine too. I have tried the Rotadent on myself for a while. It is a well-made unit, but I didn't like it. It is really designed for people who have periodontal problems. It seems like it is designed to compensate for some people's inability to learn other ways to clean under their gums. If this was not recommended in a dental office, do not buy it. You can use it wrong and do more damage than good. If you do buy one, part of that $200 is to teach you how to use it and follow your progress at successive visits. |
