Issue why does the tooth enamel appear transparent at the bottom of the tooth and opaque at the top? Best Tip Unfortunately its due to acid erosion. Because of our diets these days, some of the food additives, fizzy drinks, alcohol, fruit juices and fresh fruit, salads etc erode the natural enamel of oour teeth at the outer edges. Therefore they become more transparent as they are thinner at the tips. The enamel does get eroded on the rest of the teeth, but they dont go transparent as they are thicker, they just lose their pearly whiteness and become more yellowed as the dentine underneath is exposed, which is naturally moe yellow. You can use a specific enamel protecting toothpaste, but it wont really replace it, just stops it getting worse. Others Cos there's no root and what not underneath it, it's just enamal. On some people it is thinner than others though The tooth is thinner at the bottom. cos the bottom or edge of the tooth is thinner and weaker on the edge. The enamel is translucent, just underneath the enamel in teeth is the dentin. The dentin is much more opaque than enamel and is what gives teeth their white color. However, at the tips of your teeth there is no dentin sandwiched between the enamel, so the translucent appearance of enamel is much more apparent. well basically your whole enamel of your tooth is transparent the color you see is the dentin underneath your enamel so may bey you have thinner enamel at the base of your tooth or you are calcium different i am currenly a denal assistant and am going to school to became a dentist |
