Average price of a crown (details)? |
Issue Just curious what the average price of having a molar crowned is. My dental insurance through work is more of a "discount plan", and I have a deep cavity in one of my rear molars and need a crown. My portion of the cost is $400. Is this about right? (No root canal involved.) Best Tip That sounds right. Most dental insurances pay for 50% of crowns and most crowns are around $800-$1000. Source(s): Dental Assistant Others Thats about right...some places are more. That good They rum 1,000 to 1,500 I think that's about right. I just had one, and the total cost of the crown was $900, and I had to pay about $375 as my "co-pay" or out of pocket expense or whatever they called it. Funny. It would cost some 4 000 Crowns (that's our currency) in Slovakia which is about $120. Visit Slovakia - the dentists are good and the prices are friendlier (but the flight ticket would be too expensive I am afraid). I don't know the average price. I paid $362 for a crown of a molar. It would have been $466 total if a "buildup" had been necessary. These figures are for "my portion" of the costs, the remainder was covered by my dental insurance. |
