Should I get two root canals on my upper molars or have them pulled? |
Issue I am not sure of the lingering heath effects of having teeth pulled. If I had to replace my teeth being pulled I would probably simply get the root canals done. If I can live without my two upper molars I think I would just get them pulled. Best Tip Have the root canals and save the teeth if possible. Removing teeth can affect the alignment of your remaining teeth in the jaw as well as cause problems with chewing. It's smarter from both a cosmetic and mechanical standpoint to save teeth if you can. As someone else pointed out, a good dentist can do root canals painlessly and quickly -- it's not the major procedure it used to be, at least not in terms of recovery. You should have no pain at all. Good luck!If they are on the same side you might have a problem chewing. Always save teeth is you can. A root canal done by a specialist is fast and painless and you just have a filling. Even if it is later in life, have them pulled. root canals deals with the nerves, nerves don't go thru osmosis Oh, yeah, you can live without your molars, but I would suggest the joy of the root canal for this reason: once you have teeth pulled, the adjacent teeth lose some of their support and can become loose themselves. The other problem can be that the teeth remaining can have decay on them that exposure to air will simply accelerate the decay further, requiring them to be pulled at a later time when they go bad. My counsel is this, do whatever it takes to keep your original equipment, it's alot more expensive, but in the long run, well worth it. Personal experience with pulled teeth. I have had molars pulled one on each side on the bottom. It has been very difficult chewing. At times when chewing hard foods like chips or meat, I have cut my gum where the tooth use to be. It is very painful. I have gotten a bridge on one side and plan to get one on the other but is is very expensive. Tip to your question. Yes Get a Root Canal and then a cap on that. Save your teeth. |
