What is the normal age for a child to start loosing their teeth? And is it usually top or bottom first? |
Issue My daughter is 4 and her top front tooth is loose. I know everyone is different but her sister did not lose her first tooth until she was 6 and it was on the bottom. Just wanting some answers to find out if it is normal or if I should contact her dentist. Best Tip The usual tooth to lose first is a lower central incisor and this is usually lost at age 5 or 6. The upper teeth come a few months later, if your child read the textbook. (haha) 4 years and 0 months is kind of early to lose any tooth without a reason and I think this warrants a visit to the dentist to see what's going on. Others i started losing mine at the old age of three but then i was in a auto accident I remember that I lost my first tooth when I was around 4 or 5. So it should be perfectly normal. I think that I lost my bottom teeth first, but it doesn't matter which one comes out first. They'll grow back again, all the same. Hopefully the tooth fairy visits your daughter :) no- she is fine. it really does vary... I would just wait untill her next dentist visit 6-7 I was around 4 when I started losing teeth. I lost top first, but every kid is different about that. Unless there is evidence of an injury causing it, there is no need to get a dentist involved. Just get ready for a visit from the tooth fairy! It's normal. I lost my first teeth when I was four. So did my daughter, but hers were the bottoms. My son was five when he lost his first ones (on top) I wouldn't worry too much about it. |
