Can orthadonic braces cause you to have headaches?

Issue
I have more headaches now than I have ever had in my life since getting braces. I am about halfway through treatment.
Thanks

Best Tip
Yes this is possible. You should tell your othodontist

Others
yes, absolutely!
Yes.. its possible. When the braces are too tight, people tend to get headaches.
U prob have rubberbands huh? Take them off once in a while to relieve the strain off ur gums
I tried looking some things up for you and from what I have found it is POSSIBLE, but the braces should be correcting problems like headaches and jaw soreness. You need to consult your orthodontist to have him/her determine what is normal and what is not.
sometimes when facial muscles become inflammed, they can refer pain to other areas in the head and neck. when you're moving teeth around, there is a lot of inflammation that occurs as a result of the stretching and compressing of tooth ligaments and the building/tearing down of bone to move the teeth. it is a regular thing for some of this pain to refer, or show itself, in different areas of the nerves, sometimes in the brain itself. take 3-4 advils up to 4 times a day (breakfast/lunch/dinner/bedtim... when you're going through these headache spells, and you'll probably notice a significant improvement.
