Why did my dentist carry on when I gave the signal to stop?? |
Issue Ok, know I sound like a right woos but I just went to dentist to have tooth out. She numbed the area and told me to raise my hand if I felt any pain...how does excruciating sound? Raised my hand , she carried on, I made strange noises of protest, she carried on...I made an ear piercing screaming noise to which she enquired "are you feeling any pain there?" Turns out the area wasn't totally numb so yeah you could say it smarted a bit!! Why did she carry on until i screamed?? Best Tip Because of who you are and who she is. You are just one more patient on her already overstressed schedule. You think too highly of yourself, as if you should matter to her. You are not her spouse, her child or her friend. Therefore, you are a number and one that she can live without. She is overworked and overpaid. She needs her employees and her family, not more patients. She is a professional and you are a pee-on noob. She is going through a bit of a dry spell personally and is giving much more thought to personal issues than to you, even while drilling in your mouth. She is a slave to her own practice and needs a vacation. Do yourself and her a big favor, find a new dentist and become friends. :) Others Um, duh, ask HER, not here. I think we have all been there! I ask mine to inject me and then let me go and wait for a while before he does the work. I have been hurt too often by drill happy dentists, and from now on he's going to share my pain! Dentist have infallible belief in their often inadequate numbing stuff. You need to buid up trust with your dentist. I am a woos and am doing what they call compliance, baby steps to treatment first they look then next visit they touch then they poke and so on I had my first injection 2 weeks ago with gas and air at the attempt before I walked out in floods of tears A lot of my problem stems from your kind of situation and it stopped me going for 16 years. I think you have 2 choices here 1. go back and speak to the dentist, explaine how you felt and make her understand that at the end of the day she is working for you, you are paying for your treatment and are not happy with the service you received or 2. change dentists to one you can trust. Cause she apperently an incompatent idiot. Either that or one sadistic woman. i have NEVER trusted female dentists. I am not sexist, i am a rightgous woman who loves woman rights, but i just dont trust em. if you are near london, go to the Angel Practice based in Highbury and Islington, its opp Angel Station on the Northan Line. They are soooooooooooooo good, i cryed when i went to other dentist, these people are the best ever. I have an italian guy, hes quite cute too!! You should report your dentist. serioulsy. your mouth is a precious place. change the dentist if u are happy to live that torture room. a good dentist will never do that to u besides they r very friendly and they do anything to not harm u |
