Is it normal to have headaches after having to start wearing rubber bands with your braces? |
Issue Ever since I had to start wearing rubber bands about 3 months ago, I have had a lot of headaches, and just feel a lot of pressure all around my head. Is this comman? Statring to think I have a brain tumor or something!! Thanks!! Best Tip I've never heard of it before, but it's possible that the rubber bands are squeezing your teeth together causing the headaches.yes i did at first i used tylonal and the pain went away Yes, it is very common, try a pain reliever like tylenol, or what every your orthodontist recommends. Yes, there is a constant pressure being put on your jaws and teeth. Take Tylenol or whatever the orthodontist tells you. I had braces for two years with bands and I about died. I took 4 500mg advil everyday because my head or mouth hurt so bad. I could hardly eat anything. So yes, it is normal to feel like your head is going to cave in on you lol. I had braces for 3 years at the age of 41. When they told me to start wearing rubber bands I got terrible headaches. Hang in there, they will go away soon after your jaw muscles get used to the extra tension. |
