i thought i had a sinus infection, now im thinking it may be an absess tooth.? |
Issue Im not in any pain.My cheek is swollen , probably from the absess. I am taking Cefzil. I also just took 1 motrin. Should i take another motrin for the swelling? Rinse with salt water? Best Tip If your not in pain, it's probably not an abcess tooth. Do you have any of these symptoms?: Toothache Severe, continuous pain Gnawing or throbbing pain Sharp or shooting pain Pain when chewing Sensitivity of the teeth to hot or cold Bitter taste in the mouth Breath odor Possible fever Swollen glands of the neck General discomfort, uneasiness, or ill feeling Swollen area of the upper or lower jaw -- a very serious symptom You said there was no pain, so it might be a sinus infection. Is your mucus lime green color? Either way, you need to see a doctor. Others I just had a sinus infection and I read on webmd that they can cause jaw and tooth pain... I would take a total of 600mg of motrin and see if that helps. Have a dentist look at it as soon as possible. You might need the tooth extracted to really get rid of the infection. http://www.healthatoz.com/healthatoz/ato... It could very well be....or vice-versa. The antibiotic will be good for either...and yes, you can take another motrin. Sometime a warm, moist compress over the swollen area also helps. You can try the salt water rinse...make it warm, but not hot. If it is not better tomorrow, call the Doctor and get a pain reliever ordered! As the swelling and inflammation continue, you might need something stronger than Motrin. Good luck! Been there...done that! You will usually have alot pain if it is an absess. |
