small teeth problem? |
Issue i have really small teeth does this reck my smile are they a turn off Best Tip You should ask a dentist to examine you. There are a few possible reasons, and corresponding solutions: 1. Genetically small teeth. Sometimes these can be enlarged with composite, veneers, or crowns. However, any changes to the way you BITE must be assessed. If you make the front teeth bite differently, then you will have to do something to the back teeth too. For difficult cases, a specialist prosthodontist may become involved. 2. Normal teeth but covered by excess gum. This is the easiest to treat. Gum surgery can remove the excess gum or even remove bone to lengthen the look of your teeth. Normally a specialist periodontist will do this, and the effects can be easy, fast and very effective. 3. Teeth that have been worn down by erosion. Essentially the same remedy as 1., but more difficult to treat because the teeth are in poorer condition. You won't know for sure unless you get an opinion or two! Others Don't know...haven't seen them. But there are veneers you can have put on as a cosmetic cover up. put a photo up somewhere so you can get an honest opinion. otherwise you can't tell. I wouldn't be concerned tho, small teeth haven't bothered me before, its the huge ones that freak me out. ;) Can't tell. I have a few patients with tiny teeth and they look just fine. I mean, their teeth are smaller than any stock denture teeth I have ever seen, so they must be "outside the norm." But they fit the people just right. As long as you like your teeth thats all that should matter! But if you were ever thinking of changing the size or the way your teeth look you can consider lumineers or veneers. Lumineers seem to be more popular and the procedure is less time consuming and does not require removing a lot of tooth structure. Do a google/yahoo search for those and see if you are interested. They look beautiful and very natural! I have awesome teeth already, and I still consider the lumineers! Anyways good luck! :) I have worked in a dental office for 2 years. |
