How long does it take to schedule an appointment for wisdom teeth? |
Issue They're starting to become painful and I want them pulled as soon as possible. Does it hurt, or do they do a good job of sedating you? Best Tip scheduling the appointment is the easy part! If your gums are infected they give you pills to take to get rid of the infection then comes the surgery it is fast and very painless but after you better follow the dr. orders! No smoking(I dont) no drinking from straws (I did) and take all meds untill its gone( I didnt) result a face that looked like someone beat me up swollen black eyes I got an infection and dry socket. They had to cut my stitches out and put a tube to drain the infection(NASTY)!!! Others call now, i dont know how busy your dentist is, they put you out, you dont feel it till about 2 hrs afterward, then it feels like you were hit by a bus for 3 days, but then its ok, so plan it for friday of a long weekend. I agree with starwood...call now!! It's not fun when your wisdom teeth hurt! I've been there, done that! My dentist didn't put me to sleep or anything, but he did give me great numbing medicine! You also won't feel the pain until a few hours later...but you'll get great pain medicine for that too!!! Do it now...or you'll be in sooooo much pain later!! Good luck with everything... all 4 wisdom teeth pulled... If you call a dentist and tell him you are in pain, it shouldn't take long at all. To be sure you don't have any pain or after effects, go an oral surgeon they are trained to extract teeth. call your oral surgeon and ask for an appointment, odds are you can be seen relatively soon, but they'll never know to make the appointment for you if you don't call them first ;) Let's see. Pick up phone (1 second); dial number (4 seconds); wait for answer (20 seconds); arrange appointment (30 seconds). I'd say less than a minute. You will most likely have to be seen for an x-ray and consultation first, though. The dentist or oral surgeon has no way of knowing how much time to save for you and they can't give you a 20 minute appointment if you need an hour. There is also a chance that you will need to take an antibiotic for a few days or more before the teeth can be removed, if they are hurting due to a gum infection, which is common with wisdom teeth. |
