why my 5 yrs boy grind his teeth during his sleep making squeking sound several times a night.? |
Issue the boy is healtyh, clever loves drawing and playing even computer games. Best Tip I can not state emphatically enough that you should never, ever consider getting (or making) an appliance to stop tooth grinding in a five year old. This would stop proper growth and development of the jaw where the appliance is worn. It is my opinion that baby teeth are designed to be worn away as the jaws grow and develop. This allows for different growth rates and it allows for the accommodation of the permanent teeth with their much more pronounced cusp forms when they start to come in. You may wish to ask your dentist to check for underlying problems, but 99% of the time - if not more - this is just part of being a five year old. Source(s): 30 years as a dentist Others He must have a fever,,, or the chills they usually do this with their teeth... you should wake your a**s up and go check on the boy. I've always been a tooth grinder and there's nothing wrong with me, no stress, no nightmares, etc. Take your boy to the dentist and get his teeth sealed though so that he doesn't grind away the enamel and get lots of cavities. That is not good for his teeth. It could just be a normal thing though. He may grow out of it. I would suggest you talk to his PCP or Dentist just to make sure there are no serious issues. Good Luck! my dad does that, a dentist gave him a thing to put in his teeth, it hurts a bit but he stopped. He could be having stress if he has just started something new or if his routine has been altered. My experience is that most doctors and dentist do not help with this, they now have guards they can wear at night that will keep them from grinding their teeth and causing problems with their teeth later down the road.
