tomh311! need your help desperately! i know youre a dentist by profession...?

Issue
so i mentioned in an earlier question that i had a bout of trauma to my teeth and it has now became loose and one of it is displaced.

tomh311 replied saying that loosened teeth takes 3 months to firm up. and i would need braces to bring it back into place.

so now my question really is, would pain accompany loose teeth? especially when you try to wiggle them? and do braces hurt?

thanks alot.

Best Tip
Absolutely. The teeth are normally tethered to the head by a tissue called the periodontal ligament. This tissue is particularly sensitive to touch or pressure, especially during dental trauma. I would try not to touch the area. I hope you are on a course of antibiotics and have already seen a dentist to have the teeth reduced and splinted. Then, I would seek a consultation from an endodontist (root canal specialist) within the week. Sometimes the inside nerve of the teeth becomes injured and can become infected. This will make matters worse as an abscess will ensue. You may need root canals on the teeth that have subluxated. Anyhow, time is of the essence. Start taking 400-600mg Ibuprofen every 6 hrs to help with the pain and inflammation and go see an endodontist. They will fix you up! A general dentist is ok too, but I would see a specialist if you want it done right. Good Luck. Source(s): I am an endodontist

Others
if it is loose pull it, before it get infected. later on your can always get a false tooth or an implant to replace it.
yes it will be painful if you wiggle them
DONT WIGGLE THEM..........THEY WONT FIRM UP IF YOU WIGGLE
and braces dont hurt
