impacted wisdom teeth? |
Issue i have an impacted wisdom tooth its causing a lot of pain in the tooth next to it an in the gum can any one suggest anything to help with the pain either types of pain killers or alternative types of reliefe while im waiting to get appointment with dentist any help will be greatfully recieved thanks. Best Tip Ibuprofen is the best for dental pain, also rinse with luke warm salty water to keep the area clean. Then see your dentist as soon as, he might give you some antibiotics to keep you going until you have the tooth out. Source(s): Im a dental nurse. Others Make sure the dentist you are making the appointment to, can remove the impacted tooth, this is not something general dentist do. I would suggest Advil or tylenol.. They will most likely put you on antibiotics before they can remove the tooth to get rid of the infection. Sound like one of those that avoids going to the dentist. Do as the dental nurse says, but call today for an appointment. This is sort of an emergency. Good dentists don't like patients to be in pain and can usually see you soon. Don't put it off as it won't get better and can damage the other tooth. i just went through the same thing. seriously. i took motrin for bout 3 days then it stopped completely. and yesterday i just had it pulled. soooooo either/or ibprof. or motrin, first time u take them though take bout 3 or 4. buttttttttt dont take to many cause asprin can thin ur blood and then you'll bleed alot when u get ur tooth pulled so a week b4 ur appt only take it for 3 days. that way u have 4 days for it to wear off. solouble asprin on your finger neat and rub on the gum area that hurts! ouch! until mine were removed for same reason the only painkiller that subdued it (none completely got rid of the pain if it's bad enough) was the ibuprofen liquid capsules, it acts faster than the rest i tried and more targetted.
