Should I cancel my dentist appointment? |
Issue I came down with a cold on Monday and today I still have a cough and a runny nose. Would it be rude of me and/or unhealthy to keep my appointment? I am a new patient so the dentist requires a 鈥榩reliminary鈥?visit in advance of my cleaning scheduled for next week. Best Tip As dental professionals we assume we are protecting ourselves against a bevy of unseen pathogens with every patient i.e. Hepatitus, HIV, TB. We are well equipped to avoid the common cold. You should however take some decongestant to make your appointment more comfortable and thanks for thinkin' of us! Source(s): RDH for 23 yrs Others yes Tell them you have a cold. call them and check. most dentists dont want to see sick patients because of the bacteria in the mouth is a lot worse than anywhere else. but i would just call em up. hell no!!! go to the dentist. just take some medicine to dry up the mucus. you need to go to the dentist so they can take care of your teeth. you don't want you teeth problems to get worse. i had a wisdom tooth extracted months ago. i waited too long because of dental insurance. the pain was awful. do it. don't worry about a cold. take medicine for it and plenty of tissues. don't keep putting it off!!!!! I try to avoid going to the dentist when i am sick. I know that if i was a dentist i wouldnt want people coughing in my face. I would cancel. |
