ceramic ( clear ) braces!? |
Issue i hav ceramic ( clear ) braces.... and i avoid food touching them so they are not yellow or something like that.. but through time, will the BRACKETS turn yellow or anything? thank you if u answer! Best Tip The actual brackets will not turn yellow, but the little rubber ligatures will if you don't carefully clean them and avoid foods that stain. Particularly bad foods for staining are curry, mustard, coffee, tea, and tomato based foods such as spaghetti sauce. You can reduce ligature staining by using a whitening toothpaste or brushing with baking soda. I do this at least once a day or after I eat a food that might stain my ligs. Another option is to get a different colour of ligature put on. Your orthodontist can recommend colours that won't stain as much. You should have just gotten the metal ones, they're really not as bad as ugly yellow. You can't avoid food touching your braces. It's not possible; however, you should not be worried abouth staining your ceramic brackets b/c they won't. Only the elastic ties around your braces will get stained with color foods or drinks. Proper brushing will help reduce the staining. I know the answer |
