Issue Is there any brand of test strips for Blood Glucose monitoring which can be used on any monitoring machine? Best Tip No, but Lifescan OneTouch meters use the same strips for several of their meters. I like having a back up meter that uses the same strips. In this case you could use the newest Mini on the go and maybe the Ultra 2 or Ultra smart at home. It would be great if you could use one strip but then the meter companies would not like that idea at all. Others each brand strip must be used on recommended machines for an optimal answer. please remember that machines are still able to give you only approximate results and a blood sample at a local lab onto an auto analyser will give you the correct results Simple answer - no. There are some strips made that will fit more than one machine but, unless you are using the correct strips, the results may not be as accurate as you hope. These tests do not take the place of the 1AC test. No there aren't. Each monitor is running on it's own strip because there are different activators. Blood glucose machines use the blood sample to make an electrical circuit complete. The speed be which this happens translates to the amount of sugar in the sample. The sugar level is what the machine is measuring, thus the speed it takes to complete this electrical circuit ( each machine places these receptors in slightly different spots) measures the "potency" of glucose. some meters can share strips by the same manufacture.
