Issue My friend is suffering from diabetes and can't afford her meds. She has insurance but even still the medicine is over $275 a month. She is single and is working 2 jobs now just to get by. She is on pills and shots. Is there a program that will help her with the costs even though she has insurance? Also, are there any good alternative meds out there that might be just as affective and safe but don't cost as much? FYI she lives in Texas. Best Tip She should contact the pharmaceutical company (s) directly. If you can't afford the medications you need (and you qualify) you can get your medications from them for free. Tell her to call her pharmacy to get the names of the manufacturers of her necessary medications and then go to their websites for her. Source(s): I research pharmaceutical companies Others She can be her own best friend and reduce the use of her medications by following a strict diabetic diet and exercising on a daily basis. As for the cost, I suggest she contact the manufacturer as many of them offer assistance in purchasing their medications. RN brystol, myers they will help call now Most companies now have what is called a prescription assistance fund and if you will call the pharmaceuticla company such as Merck, Bristol-Myers they will be able to help. Good Luck and I h;ope this helps. There is an alternative way of controlling diabetes. I know a naturopathic doctor (ND) that helped a lot of people with different ailments or sickness and I know diabetes is one of them. This ND helped me, my friends and family with our ailments. It is worth trying. The site is www.design2heal.com . Please pass this information to your friends and love ones. You migh save a life by passing this info. |
