Issue How come some anti-septic washes hurt and others don't hurt? Best Tip anything with alcohol will hurt as will anything from a spray can like bactine because they have to use a propellent agent like propane. The best ones to use have an ingredient to numb pain such as lidocaine or benzene but not from a spray can. Others Probably the ingredients -- if something has alcohol or something else similarly strong, it will sting. SOme anti-septic washes contain alcohol and others don't. The alcohol is what burns you. Because some add a small dose of a numbing agent. Did I pass? :) Look for alcohol content in the ingredients..it is what makes the medicine sting. some have alchol content that is higher then others because some contain alcohols and some dont |
