*Health Issues>>>Infectious Diseases issues>>>antibiotic cure for MRSA? |
Issue was hospitalized for open wound on foot (between toe) I have been given 3 different antibiotics 1 being clindamycin injection. I have been here for almost 2 weeks. HELP! Best Tip the first line typicall for MRSA is Vancomycin unless they are covering something else with clinda or if showed sensitivity to clinda and vanco, (vanco is not a fun drug to monitor if it can be avoided), if symptoms are not improving for two weeks then it may be a good idea to consider changing antibiotics, ocnsidering inpatient IV antibiotics etc. good luck Others Manuka Honey has antiseptic qualities, and has been used to kill off infections and super bugs in surgical or other wounds. Try smearing some of the honey onto the wound and repeat as necessary until infection has gone. Make sure to get the Manuka Honey that has the live active ingredient and not the processed version. Most good health food shops have it in stock. Vancomycin and teicoplanin are glycopeptide antibiotics used to treat MRSA infections. Please see the webpages for more details on MRSA. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/mrsa... i had an mrsa and an open wound on my chest and was given vancomyicin which seemed to clear it up just have patience with the open wound it takes time as much as anything else for it to heal i also had a wound vac and that seemed to help also Have you heard of glyconutrients? It has helped many people. look at this site. glycoscience.org and glycoresource.com if u have a diabetic foot infection?? possibly anaerobic, so think clinda. but if mrsa think vanco.. should probably use both. |
