*Health Issues>>>Infectious Diseases issues>>>Can i still get a corneal ulcer?? |
Issue I started using disposable contacts for about 6-8 months....i slept with them alot, not even sure if they were extended where or not since i was lazy..I am now aware that sleeping with contacts causes this corneal ulcer thing.....now the disposables are finished....my eye feels fine and shows no symptoms of corneal ulcer, or anything.....I ordered a new order of disposables but i will no longer sleep with them.....If i haven't gotten the corneal ulcer already, does it mean that I lucked out? or can it happen even later on, even if you stopped doing it, based on what I did a while back...thanks Best Tip You cannot develop a corneal ulcer from something you did in the past, only if you did something wrong now. Others You should be fine... I've gotten corneal ulcers from rubbing my eyes and having unknown objects (sand, etc) in them..--as long as your contacts are clean and sanitary you'll be fine. Key word = SANITARY! you are very lucky, but I bet you got scar tissue up the wazoo in that eye on the cornea and you may require a transplant somewhere down the line, I had a transplant almost 2 years ago, its not too bad I see better but one of my stitches just broke and I had to have the stitch removed.. no they don't always remove the stittches I had one of the top guys in the field do my surgery. go see a cornea specialist is my advice just to see how the eye is and what to maybe expect in the future. |
