My son had an infected finger, cause he has a bad habbit of chewing his nails and hangnails... he has taken?

his antibiotics, but it looks like the fingernail is going to fall off. Do you know if a new one will grow back? I know i can ask his Dr., but thought i'd ask here too.

It should grow back unless he has damaged the nail matrix.

his nail should definitely grow back, the only way it wouldn't is if the root of the nail is dead, but in this case it should be okay.
