Can men (or anyone for that matter) get HIV from public toilets?

Issue
I'm curious (and freaking out) about it.

I'm 16. Been abstinant my entire life, and plan to be until I'm married. But can I ever get HIV from sitting on a public toliet in a stall?

Also, I had a bunch of medical problems when I was a child, and had several blood transfusions. They started checking all blood for HIV in i believe 1984 o r 1986, can remember--but I wasn't born until 1990 regardless. But, still, could I have HIV from that?

Supposedly I've had HIV tests done before, after every one of my transfusions.. but idk.

Point being, I'm about to have my yearly checkup, should I ask for a HIV test?

Best Tip
Hi there! Please do not worry. It is impossible to contract HIV from using a public toilet. You can only contract the virus from having sexual intercourse and/or coming into contact with needles which have been used on an infected individual. I am sincerely sorry for everything that you have had to go through and, if it adds to your peace of mind, please do ask for such a screening. Even if we both know it will come back negative, sometimes just seeing the negative results in writing can be soothing/relieving. I hope that you are being tested in public health clinics/hospitals. Good luck to you.
I hope that you will find this helpful.

Not from a toilet seat, no. If you live a high risk lifestyle ask for the test.
better safe then sorry.
generally, No...unless you sat on a toilet seat covered in someone else's bodily fluids like blood, semen, or urine and did not bother to wipe it off and use layers of protective seat covers had an open wound or sore on your ***.

I now carry disinfectant wipes in my backpack for when i have to use the toilet for #2
no you can not get HIV from a public restroom> there has to be an exchange of bodily fluids. about your yearly check up if it would put your mind a ease go ahead and ask your doctor for the test
No you can not get HIV from toilets. Contact with body fluids into an open wound can. You should have already had symptoms if you got the blood transfusion when you were a child. If it bothers you then talk to your doctor. If you did have contact with any body fluids it takes six months to show up on a test.
no, don't bother. you're a bit paranoid i think. you can't get hiv from toilet seats or even close physical contact with an infected person. the only way you can become infected with hiv is direct contact between your and an infected person's blood or semen. hiv is a very delicate virus and won't survive for more than few minutes outside the body. so, when you start having sex, make sure your partner is clear or use a condom. if you use intravenous drugs (i guess you don't, but you never know what's gonna happen), don't share needles. if you're in a third world country, avoid getting blood transfusions locally. that's all you need to do to avoid hiv, and as long as you've always done that, the likelihood that you're fine is almost 100%. regarding the transfusions you've got in your life, as long as you got them in a developed country the danger that you could have been infected is virtually nil, as since the tragic events of the eighties every donation is rigorously tested. they don't want that kind of thing on their hands if they can avoid it, y'know. so, relax, hiv is one thing you don't have to worry about.
