How many calories should I be getting per day?

Issue
Im 16, workout (resistance training) 5x p/week. Im trying to put on muscle mass. I started on Januray 10th (at 52kg), and today Im at 72kg). On average Im gaining 1.2 pounds per week. How many calories per day should I be getting as Im trying to build as much mass as possible.

Thanks

PS. Do you think that the progress Ive made so far is any good? Is 1.2 pounds per week good.

Thanks for your answers, no stupid ones please

Best Tip
one word...protein.

Eat carbs an hour or two before you work out... drink a protein shake 30 minutes after. Carbs for energy while working out... Protein for repairing your muscles, and other health benefits.

Finally, why do you want to grow so big? What is your aim? What are your fat levels?

I like to have lots of muscle, and no fat.... So I don't have too much carbs, mainly protein... and the timing of protein is important. Tuna is good for a snack, chicken also...

Be clear about your goals... I am wondering whether you are working out too hard... Recovery is important.. You need to recover well, eat protein, sleep well. drink lots of water...

I don't mean this in the wrong way. Your progress is great, but at your age you should be concentrating on slow and solid growth, avoiding injury, using proper technique, concentrating on core strength.

I can't say this enough, you want to make improvement, but sustainable improvement... You don't want injuries... That means recover well in between...

Also, take a week off every month or two... Your body will love you for it, and you won't go backwards... Recovery time is when your body grows.

Have fun, and good luck mate, sounds like you will be a pretty impressive dude if you be careful and make sure you are doing things properly.

EDIT... Yeah I agree, you need carbs too, especially if you want growth... I need to get some pasta into me again, I've lost weight from riding the bike too much lately. I was just emphasising protein coz many people don't realise you need at least 1g protein per kilo of body mass PER DAY... And at your training rate, presuming you train hard, you may need 1.5g even more. Especially as you grow.
