should a 300+ lbs man ride a bike or go for a walk? |
Issue should a 300+ lbs man ride a bike or go for a walk? Best Tip No question that either are excellent exercises, and generally non-strenuous for someone who is 'overweight'. What you may find is that bike riding, either stationary or not, may be easier on your joints. Typically riding has less impact on knees and hips, which can be painful or strenuous on knees and hips in people who are carrying too much weight. I find using an elliptical rider is very comfortable and great exercise as well. Source(s): experience Others How about both Either one is good so long as he isn't riding/walking to Krispy Kreme. That would have to be a really sturdy bike with heavy duty tires. Go for a walk! Walk, thats the best thing you can do right now. Walk alot, and cut out those carbs and sugars. Stay disiplined and itll work. The weight will begin to come off, especially if youre watching your diet, but keep walking. Good Luck. I wish you the best! I'm an avid mountain biker.. but i have to say you probably won't have much fun on a bike at that weight.. maybe a stationary bike.. but you would be risking injury on a street/mountain bike at that weight... I'd say walk or stationary bike till you get down to 250ish.. then you can start thinking about mountain/street biking. |
