Is it Post Nasal Drip ?

Issue
This is a bit gross, but I wake up in the night with a 'lump' of phlem in my throat. Its atually chewy. Its white/clear when I spit it out.
It can go to my chest and cause me to cough lots.

I can't figure why its happening. Anyone else have it?
Maybe an alergy to food, pollen or post nasal drip maybe?

Enlighten me, please.

Yes, that is post nasal drip. You may have allergies, in fact, I would bet on it. There are several things you can do. Get an air purifier and put it in your bedroom. This will help immensely. Dust (cloth and product or wipes, not feather) and vacuum your bedroom frequently, as far from bed time as possible. Do not sleep with your ceiling fan on, this forces air up your nostrils and can inflame allergies. You may also want to switch your laundry products to allergen reducing or dye, fragrance free products. If this isn't enough to beat the lump in your throat, try taking Claritin which is available over-the-counter. If that doesn't work, talk to your doctor about getting a prescription for a once a day allergy medicine like Allegra or Zyrtec. Good luck!
