Icing injury prior to game (ankle area, need advice)? |
Issue Gonna play soccer tonight and have a sprained left ankle and bruised big toe. I'm icing both now for 20 minutes; then, more rest and compression; then, I'll ice again 3 hours later (same compression and rest). Then, at 5:30, an hour before the game, I was thinking about icing my ankle one more time. Would you advise this or advise against. I know the obvious which is not play, but I have to play today and then, I'll rest it for a week. Best Tip Well i would say don't play cause it'll just get worse. If you REALLY have to play then see how you feel when you're warming up, if it's hurting you alot then i'd strongly advice you not to play because if this is a sprain then it'll heal in a while but if you play and injure it even more then you wont be able to play for a logner period of time. Source(s): A friend who once had a small injury and still played, then it became a big one and he couldn't play for a month and a half and was out of form when he started playing again. He regrets it now... Others |
