is it normal for a person turning 40 to start getting odd afflictions? |
Issue im male and in the last 6 months ive gained 30 lbs my feet and legs get edema and im getting migrains Best Tip It sounds like the onset of middle age Moon Pecker-roo. Not anywhere near as bad as the mumps. Others Of course this isn't normal. Go see the doctor and get treated. not normal you need to see a doc to see why you are retaining fluids, could be something simple or could be something like congestive heart failure, you need to have come blood work done soon. You betcha! And wierd, new, bodily secretions and smells, too. (My feet never smelled before I turned 40, and now it smells like something died in my shoes). In, roughly, the words of the Vampire Lestat "Don't worry. You are only dying. It happens to all of us" Personal experience. No, that's not normal. Make an appt. with your doctor and see what's going on. GOOD LUCK! With age comes change, but these are things you need to talk to your Dr. about. Make a list of changes you've noticed in the last year and take it with. You should start seeing a Dr. more regularly, assuming you haven't been. Preventive care is very important for a long life. Your Dr. will tell you if you should be seen yearly. Getting migraines can be a sign of other things. Is it accompanied by jaw or neck pain? If so it could be TMJ. (I have that and it only gets worse if not treated). If your Dr. can't do anything for you consider seeing a chiropractor. It is amazing how many symptoms are connected to your back being out of alignment. A chiropractor can also give you exercises to keep you muscles strong which in turn keeps your spine in place. Seeing a chiropractor has greatly improved my migraines. On the gaining weight, your metabolism is changing, you may need to change your diet or exercise routine or add such a routine to your life style. Some people who never had to exercises before need to start when they start to get older. You're still young so you have time to make any changes needed and have them be effective long term. |
