Issue My Blood work report states that I have a high TRIG Level. What does this mean? Best Tip This is your triglyceride level. Triglycerides are the fat content of your blood. Usually they are not a problem unless you also have high colesterol. Many times triglyceride levels are determined by heredity, as in my case. Mine usually run in the 1400 range, but my colesterol is never high. I had an aunt that had trig levels around 1200 all of her life. She finally died at 94 years of age. The appropriate level is somewhere around 150 I believe. Taking niacin will lower your trigs, but it can make you have hot flashes. Others Your triglycerides (a type of fat) are too high. This is one of the warning signs that you could develop diabetes or Metabolic syndrome, so you need to change your diet and exercise. It means you are super good at higher level math. |
