Allergic Reactions? |
Issue Whenever I drink dr. pepper or any soda for that matter i have pressure in my head and acid reflux and chest pain, could this be an allergic reaction? Best Tip Sounds like you may have GERD - which is a form of acid reflux. They have recently found out that this does in fact cause esophageal cancer and that people who suffer from this - even occasionally should be on medication - I recommend Nexium - my bf gets the same thing from time to time. It heals up any openings and prevents this from happening. GERD causes chest pain as well so that would make sense with those two symptoms - the reflux and chest pain. It may just be with soda - but you are obviously sensitive to the carbonation or something - I would see your doctor for medication. As far as the headaches go - I am not sure how long after you drink a soda that you experience this but it may be due to the caffeine - unless it does not happen with any other caffeinated beverage (this would be unlikely then). It could have to do with the carbonation or artificial sweetners if it is Diet soda by chance but I would ask the Dr. about this. Too much sugar can also cause a headache in some people and Dr. Pepper is one of the highest in sugar - it is also very carbonated and rough on the throat - It could be allergic I guess - there are stranger allergies :o) Source(s): see this: Obesity and dental problems may be the two most documented consequences of drinking soft drinks, but what about chronic headaches? Previous research links coffee and tea intake to headaches. Others Sounds more like a sensitivity to the carbonation in sodas Some people can't handle the caffeine. Their bodies reject it. Maybe you should speak to your primary doctor first and he'll refer you to a specialist if he can't handle it himself. see a doctor Sounds as if you have a reaction to HFCS, which is what is commonly used to sweeten beverages these days rather than sugar. Try to purchase either diet soda's, less carbonated ones, or those that use cane sugar. If you love DP, the place below will ship to you. http://www.dublindrpepper.com/ I don't know about all that but I would stop drinking carbonated beverages if I were you. |
