How to build up chest muscles while swimming? |
Issue Are their any exercises or strokes that work the chest better then others while doing laps? I swim 4 times a week, i'd like to mix this into my routine Best Tip Do the butterfly stroke or do the breast stroke. Freestyle is good too. Also treading water is good. Try just going into water that is over your head and staying above water by using just your arms. Others Doing the butterfly is your best bet, but the unfortunate news is that you're not going to be able to get a lot of results from swimming. If you're looking to grow a chest like the guys you see on TV, you're going to have to do weights (bench press is the staple). You won't get the signature overworked pecs (read: huge chest) without a weight regimen. The upper body, especially the chest area responds very quickly and very well to basic weights. In summary, ditch swimming one day a week and do some flys and bench presses, and it'll give you the results you're looking for. |
