GM foods are good for human health? |
Issue Genetically modified foods are developed form transgeinc plants. that is transfer of particular trait gene from one plant or organism to other plant. this genetically modified plants has some toxin example. transgeic brinjal. this has resistant to brinjal fruit borer. because, it has toxin gene was transfered from another organism, it may cause to when human eat. it may give side effects. Best Tip Man has been genetically altering food by selective cross fertilization for centuries. Now of course, you may well be eating tomatoes with a frog gene spliced into them to make them withstand storage and transport better. The jury's out on this one. We won't know for many years (by which time it will be too late for most of us) whether this has harmful effects on humans. Others Give me the real thing, we eat to much altered food already. Do you realise the weather in india is not so great as to allow crops to grow easily. Most vegetables and fruits in india have grown from seeds modified in our agricultural colleges to suit their growth in harsh indian weather. This has also to be taken into context that we were once a country which was starving for food and had to beg and import food grains to feed our citizens. this is shocking but true!!The only reason we are currently self reliant is not because of fertile land but due to foresight in terms of modifing our crops to suit our weather. Now if some stuck up westerner thinks he would rather eat only food not modified in some form he can. They are no different from what is grown otherwise. To not eat them would a form of Snobbery. One Famine and you will eat whatever is in front of you!!! |
