Anti anxiety medication? |
Issue What side effects do they have? What do they alter in your brain chemistry? Does it CHANGE the way you are or your personality? Just a little afraid of taking this option for treatment if it means the meds changing me and making me into a perpetually NON-CHALANT person with no feelings. Best Tip Anti-anxiety meds don't change who you are or your personality in any real way. But when you can't stop obsessively thinking about -- and getting yourself all worked up over -- something that happened 20 years ago. . . well, they can help you stop your mind from spinning out of control and caring WAY TOO MUCH about something you really don't give a crap about. But they don't change how you feel about your family or your dog or your favorite TV show. You still have the full range or normal healthy emotions -- they just help keep you better within that range. Relax honey they don't make you a Zombie like you are thinking. All they do is help you to relax. I have been on Xanax for years now and they have done nothing to alter my personality all that they have done is make me feel better and not so anxious all of the time. They will not change you into someone that you don't want to be, they will just make you feel a little better and not so nervous. You will still have feelings if that is what you are asking. These Meds should be taken for a short period of time. They usually just mellow you out. The longer you take some of the the more you have to take. Increase dosage over time depending on what you take. Some of them give you the opposite realust. I have had personal experience with several. personal experience Take Valium (diazepam) or anything that ends in "pam." Those are the only safe medications for you. All of those SSRI's and MAIO Inhibitors are absolute frauds. They help you sleep and actually if you take a couple valiums with caffeine you will feel really good. The same can't be said for all those other ridiculous, limp-dick drugs like Paxil, Celexa, Wellbutrin etc etc etc. The side effects of those frigin things are unbelievable. You won't even feel like yourself if you take that garbage. Tell your doctor you need some valium or something ending in PAM. The rest should be banned by the FDA... |
