Need help please ? |
Issue Im going to the doctors today about my anxiety problem but i havnt been to a doctor for about 3 years and i dont feel comfortable tellin him/her whats wrong with me..can someone help? Best Tip Write your problems down on a piece of paper and give it to the Doc!! Others just be as honest as you can, and tell the doctor that your nervous/scared-believe me that will help you. Good luck How can he help you if you can't tell him about your problem? Just pretend that you are talking to a good friend. No, Just go...once you get the first three words out of your mouth you'll be okay.. YOU GO TO A DR TO HELP YOURSELF SO TELL THEM EVERYTHING I'ts natural to feel a little anxious before talking to a "stranger" about personal stuff. I just try to remember that doctors are professionals at what they do. And who better than a professional to help you out with a problem. Also remember that doctors have strict privacy policies, whatever you tell him/her will be kept confidential by law. I agree with writing down what the problem is so you can have it as back up in case you are unable to tell him. Chances are if you have the back-up you won't actually need it but it will make you feel better just knowing it's there. I don't have anxiety and I always write down what I want to say to the doctor to make sure I address everything I wanted to so I don't have to go back another time. The other thing I would suggest is if you have someone close to you that knows what is going on, take them with you for support and they can also help fill in information that you forget at the time. Good luck |
