Is this normal on Celexa? |
Issue I started taking the anti-depressant Celexa (its generic form) yesterday. I was wondering if the things I'm experiencing are normal. I drove out of state yesterday, and while driving my palms were excessively sweaty, my teeth would not stop grinding, and I felt claustrophobic with the other cars on the road. I felt shaky. Today, these things are less noticable but my teeth are still grinding, and my palms are sweaty, and I'm dizzy when I lie down. I don't feel paranoid or claustrophobic anymore, just kinda "strange." Anyone else taken this medication? Is this normal? And to all the Tom Cruises out there, spare me the anti-antidepressant BS. You're wasting your time. Best Tip I haven't had those symptons.Well maybe sweaty palms but I have always had them. Tell your doctor. Others ok here is the best site there is for the good the bad and ugly about any meds for mental health www.crazymeds.org you'll owe me 10 points for this answer feel good mother of 8 Hi, yes this is so normal , I took the same thing myself , I had alot of weird symtoms, like buzzing head feeling , grinding teeth and feeling like I was in the clouds after about a week or two it completely went away and then another week or two went by and it completely stopped working and I was put on a stronger anti-depressant "Lexapro" .. I've been on it for a couple of years and NEVER had anything remotely like that. Usually it makes me feel pretty stable. It's when I forget to pick up my refill for a few days that I start to feel all emotionally haywired, like everything bothers me, or I cry at all the sad songs, and laugh my head off at other times. You'll have to decide for yourself--usually they don't like you to quit anti-depressants cold-turkey, but since you only started yesterday it would probably be OK if you stopped taking it right away. Get back in to the doctor that prescribed this for you and get something else. This is definitely not right. I took Celexa for awhile and I didn't experience and side affects but I was on a very low dosage. You should call your Doctor and ask him/her if this is to be expected or if it is unusual, and what you should do about it. Good Luck!! |
