How do you stop thinking that something awful is going to happen? |
Issue Sometimes I have to blurt outloud...Go away satan when those thoughts come into my head. I am quite sane. Best Tip I answered a similar question recently and we all have these moments, but when you say go away Satan, also say to your self, I must stop thinking about something that is not going to happen, it's just my imagination working over time. I am sure that your quite sane and thus you should be able to control your thoughts when you feel this way. God is with you and he will protect you, so be confident that with his help all will be ok. Others i have the same problem..i keep thinking something bad is gonna happen to me..last time i thought that i got stabbed Think good thoughts, if that is to hard for you to do then you might need to talk to a professional about this... Play chess, find another hobby. Find a peaceful religion. Think of lunch, dinner breakfast????? Get over yourself! don not worry about it. you are right. lots of awful things are going to happen and a lot of good things too. just wait unitl they do to deal with them. you can do it. focus on now. "sufficient unto the day are the troubles thereof" Awful things happen to all of us from time to time, along with the good. A wise counselor taught me to "awfulize." This involves embracing whatever terrible thought comes and imagining the worst that could possibly happen. Examine it from all angles and think through how you woud react and what you would do in that instance. Once you have met the fear head-on and plotted out your response, you will recognize that there is really nothing you cannot deal with, and a wonderul sense of calm and confidence returns. Try it! |
